Mastered

A few months ago I bought Superboy tons of the Roll-a-Rounds balls, and fun little toys that he could use them with. Today however, was the first time that he picked up a ball and shoved it through the hole. It was the greatest thing to watch him problem solve and to accomlish his goal! I love watching him master new skills. He was so excited to set off the bells and whistles that rewarded his newest trick. This is all he wants to do now. Pick up ball. Push ball through hole. Say, "Yay" (yes he really says it). Do it again. Fun times at the Sargent house.

Finger Painting

Didn't you just love to finger paint? The oozy colors going everywhere; the floor, the walls, the clothes. Today was Supergirl's very first time fingerpainting and she LOVED it. She painted for over an hour, alternating between fingers and paintbrush.

The best part was that whenever I asked her if she wanted a new paper she'd politely reply, "No, Thanks" and just keep layering it on. This how Supergirl is. She doesn't do anything partly, or daintily. She covered every white speck of that paper twice over, and then she declared her masterpiece finished. Before bed she was already asking me if she could paint more tomorrow.

Perfect

This afternoon that is. We had a wonderful Sunday. My Sharing Time lesson went well, the kids were well behaved and Superman was off work. Here is a picture of the kiddos after church. I love that they will cuddle up and smile for the camera, even if it is for just a moment. This picture just sums up our Sunday. Happy kids, happy family. :)

Robinswood Park

There is a really nice park near the Seattle Temple that I love. There are trails through the woods, a pond with ducks, a pet exercise area that is always full of dogs running everywhere, playing fields and three playgrounds. While Superman was working out some school info, the superkids and I went to the park to kill some time. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time. Both superkids loved the teeter-totter and "running" sheep, but Supergirl's favorite activity was cooking food in the play structure. In case you are confused, Supergirl "cooks" us food wherever we are. She'll serve us bark-chip chicken nuggets, imaginary pancakes, and tea (thanks to Mrs. Potts on Beauty and the Beast). I love summer!

My new favorite thing

Moving into this new house has been wonderful. We have a lot more space, and each of the kiddos has their own room. I don't know if it is because they have their own spaces now, or they have just gotten older, but they LOVE to be together now. As soon as Supergirl wakes up, and Superboy hears her, he comes crawling as fast as he can to her room. He is all smiles and squeals and Supergirl is excited as well. She'll say in a very high baby voice (which is quite funny unto itself) "Hi baby brother!" Oh I just love it! Supergirl wants him to play in her room and will tell me, "I need baby brother my room." Now, so you don't assume that she is always nice, she still does not like it when he touches her things, she just likes him around.

This morning Superboy excitedly followed Supergirl into the bathroom, and would have crawled right up onto the toilet if I had let him. He just loves to be with her.

My favorite thing so far is when Superboy wakes up from his naps. Supergirl will hear him squirm or squeal and will run to me and say, "Baby brother awake?" and then she will run straight into his room. And in her high voice she'll talk to him, push him toys through the bars, and insist that I get him up.

I am very excited for this stage in our family. I think that we are going to have a lot of fun.

Playing together this morning

A bath and a buzz

After putting it off for a week or so, I finally resolved that I needed to cut Superboy's hair. So, I plopped the kid in the sink, buzzed his hair and let him play in the water. He loves baths. He loves the spashing, the water, the toys- everything. I love giving him baths (much more than buzzing his hair by the way). All in all the cut turned out alright. Shorter than I expected, but hey, he's a boy...and it will grow back.

Super Bon Bon

July 11, 2007
Ha ha. Do you guys remember Ricky Martin? Well, he had that song, Super Bon Bon, and I coincidentally had a great roommate, who also coined the name Super Bon Bon. She would often dance to that chorus because, well, how cool is it to have a song with your name in it?

I got to see Super Bon Bon when she traveled all the way from Georgia with Baby B to visit her parents, siblings etc. I drove down to P with Supergirl and Superboy in tow. It was a beautiful, warm, PNW summer day. I enjoyed the drive south very much (and was happily surprised to discover the P is not as far away as I had always thought), and after a few direction modifications I found Super Bon Bon.

We had a really great time visiting, and watching our babies play together, which for some reason is so rewarding as a mom. Bon's sister was there with her little girls, which gave Supergirl someone to play with as well.

We spent the afternoon together, and even braved the heat outside. However, as always, Bon had a great idea and we topped off our visit with some Cold Stone Ice cream. She always was a very smart girl.

Issues

It appears that I have an issue. I can not blog out of order. So, since an entire month of my photos are at my mom's house, I have delayed starting a new post. But, I also now realize how far behind I am. So, I will here and now bite the bullet, and blog about something that has happened this week, and go back and fill in older posts, like the 4th of July, Syuperboy crawling all over the place, etc.

So for now, i will just add them, so they don't get lost down the list, and later I'll go back and put them in the right order.
